We work with all parties to a trust, including Estate Planning Attorneys, Grantors, Trustees, Successor Trustees and Personal Representatives to help plan and facilitate chemical assessment provisions for Trust beneficiaries to ensure that payments are not creating drug or alcohol dependency issues.
Estate Planning
At Advanced Counseling we work with Grantors and Estate Attorneys to help design payment stipulations, to help prevent and/or identify any beneficiary Drug or Alcohol dependencies. Many clients require ongoing (Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly) individual one-on-one therapy sessions, while some will choose to mandate chemical dependency assessments/drug testing only ahead of HEMS distributions to ensure payments are not creating drug or alcohol dependencies. Additionally, assessments are often required ahead of any discretionary and/or Age Attainment payments.
Trust Facilitation
We will work with Trustees and Successor Trustees to understand payment stipulations and report back our professional opinions. Clients sign a letter of informed consent, which allows Advanced Counseling to share information with Trustees.
Many find a professional opinion from one our licensed therapists can help to alleviate concerns surrounding future distributions from the trust and provide peace of mind.
